AGC Networks Ltd. (formerly Avaya GlobalConnect) Wins INFOCOM CMAI National Telecom Award for Excellence in Unified Communications


AGC Networks Ltd., one of India's leading Intelligent Communication solutions provider, today won the coveted Award for Excellence in Unified Communications at the INFOCOM CMAI Awards held at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi. The event coincided with the celebration of World Telecommunication & Information Society Day, which marks the anniversary of the signature of the first international Telegraph Convention in 1865 and the creation of the International Telecommunication Union.

The award identified and recognized outstanding contributions made by AGC Networks Ltd. towards Unified Communications sector to provide greater encouragement and impetus for its contribution in building a robust National Telecom Network and providing an effective means of communications. As a consequence of winning the award, AGC Networks Ltd has also been inducted as CMAI Member under Corporate category.

The award was presented by Thiru A Raja, Hon’ble Minister of Communications & IT and Deputy Speaker Lok Sabha, Shri Karya Munda.

The market for unified communications (UC) technologies in India is steady and is projected to grow at CAGR of around 22 percent and would become $1,200 million by 2012, as per IDC study. A recent research report of Frost & Sullivan shows that currently India leads the Middle East UC market in terms of total spending and better overall awareness of unified communication.
